Abstract

A 39-year-old career woman came to the hospital complaining of mobility of front teeth and poor esthetics. There were anterior flarings and spacings in the maxilla. She showed incompetent and protruded lips due to labioversion of teeth, not to skeletal problem. The patient was highly motivated for treatment. She requested a fixed rather than a removable restoration and would willing to have implants if they were necessary for a fixed prosthesis. After initial periodontal therapy and extraction of hopeless teeth, 6 implants were installed in the maxillary anterior region. Using UCLA abutments, esthetic and functional prosthesis was fabricated. The patient¡¯s appearance was highly improved, especially in the profile. In this case with advanced periodontitis aggravated by drifting and flaring of teeth, the esthetic and functional improvements were achieved and the remaining tooth structures were preserved by using implant-supported fixed partial denture. The continued success of this treatment will be dependent on the cooperation of the patient, by controlling her oral hygiene as well as periodic check-up.
